Week #4 Moses
Exodus Chapter 1-2, 14 Read the story here.
Use the Verse of the Week for Bible, Handwriting, Spelling, and Grammar.
Verse of the Week: Exodus 3:9-10 Look! The cry of the people of Israel has reached me, and I have seen how harshly the Egyptians abuse them. Now go, for I am sending you to Pharaoh. You must lead my people Israel out of Egypt.
Bible: (Talk about the verse...)
God talks to us. At what point in Moses’ life does God tell him these words?
God sees everything. What did God see happening to the Israelites?
God helps us. How is God going to help the Israelites?
We must obey God. What does God tell Moses to do?
Handwriting: Write one phrase of the passage per day.
Spelling List & Activities: list: look, cry, seen, must, out
write the words 3 times in different colors, spell the words backwards and forwards, write the words in ALL CAPS, write the words on cards and quiz yourself
Grammar: (From verse 9 only)
The first word is an interjection. Interjections appear at the beginning of a sentence to show emotion.
The subject of the sentence is cry (that means this sentence is about the cry of the people.)
The predicate of this sentence is has reached (that is what the subject is doing - the cry is reaching.)
This is also a compound sentence. That means two sentences are being combined with a comma and the word “and.” So there is another subject and another predicate. The 2nd subject is I and the 2nd predicate is have seen.
Every sentence begins with a capital letter and ends with a period. Egyptians is capitalized because it is a Proper Noun not the beginning of another sentence.
Writing:
Describe Moses’ childhood.
How did Moses obey God?
What is your favorite part of Moses’ story?
