11-7-13 “At Just the Right Time”
Ephesians 1:9-10
God has now revealed to us his mysterious plan regarding Christ, a plan to fulfill his own good pleasure. And this is the plan: At the right time he will bring everything together under the authority of Christ—everything in heaven and on earth.
At the right time he will...

Galatians 4:4 says, But when the right time came, God sent his Son, born of a woman, subject to the law. Romans 5:6 says, When we were utterly helpless, Christ came at just the right time and died for us sinners. Isaiah 49:8 says, At just the right time, I will respond to you... Galatians 6:9 says, So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up. 1 Timothy 2:6 says, He gave his life to purchase freedom for everyone. This is the message God gave to the world at just the right time. 1 Timothy 6:15 says, For at just the right time Christ will be revealed from heaven by the blessed and only almighty God, the King of all kings and Lord of all lords. And 1 Peter 5:6 says, So humble yourselves under the mighty power of God, and at the right time he will lift you up in honor.

Did you catch that last one? Not only has God revealed things about his people, his Son, and the Second Coming at just the right time in history, God has plans for people who submit themselves to him. And he will lift us up in honor at the perfect time, in the nick of time, at just the right time.

I can look at history and see that everything God has done has been well planned, we’ll thought out, not arbitrary at all, and most beneficial for everyone. I would love to consider he thinks about me and the yet unfinished history of my life in the same meticulous, carefully thought out, perfectly timed way. He does!

Humbling myself to God, letting him be in charge, obeying him, trusting him is not a waste of my time. It gives way for HIS TIME and his timing to be accomplished. He does everything for my benefit, not the other way around.

Christians are fond of saying that “God’s timing is perfect” because it is! It is perfect for all his will to be accomplished, and it is perfect for the lives of each and every one of us who trust and obey him.

Dear God,
Thank you for your timing. Forgive me for the times I feel like you owe me an explanation while at the same time I can look back and see all that you’ve done and timed perfectly with history, society, and for me personally. You are great and greatly to be praised. And I’d like to leave all the timing of events to YOU. Amen!
