John 3:18 NLT
There is no judgment against anyone who believes in him. But anyone who does not believe in him has already been judged for not believing in God’s one and only Son.
Jesus came to make our hearts good again.
It’s a fabulous thought to think about that once upon a time, mankind had self-control. But then one day they didn’t. Mankind may have only been 2 people back then, but the reality is that no one has what they used to have until Jesus.
Everyone chooses their own way because God allows everyone to have free will. Life is spent experimenting and guessing if we are being good or not unless we use our free will to believe in Jesus. Only by believing in Jesus is a heart made good again, otherwise we remain in the judgement category. (See Romans 3:21-24)
It makes no sense; it’s contrary to human understanding to not try and do something or make amends or pay a penalty. It makes sense to God, though because it’s the kind way, and he is kind. Don’t you see how wonderfully kind, tolerant, and patient God is with you? Does this mean nothing to you? Can’t you see that his kindness is intended to turn you from your sin? (Romans 2:4)
It’s the simple way, because he knows we are weak. The law of Moses was unable to save us because of the weakness of our sinful nature. So God did what the law could not do. He sent his own Son in a body like the bodies we sinners have. And in that body God declared an end to sin’s control over us by giving his Son as a sacrifice for our sins. (Romans 8:3)
It’s the best way because his ways are better than ours. God’s way is perfect. All the Lord’s promises prove true. He is a shield for all who look to him for protection.
(Psalm 18:30)
It is free to get free! Isn’t that crazy? We aren’t judged for our sins by simply believing in Jesus. And he brings to our lives all that was available to our ancestors in the Garden... But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things! (Galatians 5:22-23)
No law. No judgment. Right standing with God for those who use their free will to let Jesus make their heart good again.
Dear God,
May I preach the Gospel to myself everyday like this so that the joy of your salvation will never fade in my heart. You are kind and your ways are great and you know I am weak, and you have worked this out for me. Thank you so much. I love you and pray in Jesus’ name, amen.
