Real Global Warming

Real Global Warming
2 Peter 3:7
And by the same word, the present heavens and earth have been stored up for fire. They are being kept for the day of judgment, when ungodly people will be destroyed.

I read a news article this morning titled, “After 30 Years, Alarmists Are Still Predicting A Global Warming ‘Apocalypse.’” The author just systematically revisited 12 publications of global alarmists predicting that the world was supposed to be “uninhabitable” by the end of the century. The fact that we are 17 years into the new century and still functioning makes me think that their predictions were wrong. Prince Charles even boldly predicted in summer of 2009 that there were only 96 months left to prevent irreversible damage. Well, that’s this year, so apparently, the irreversible damage is done. You can read the whole article here. Maybe the irreversible damage is something we cannot see, and 100 years from now mankind will see and know that Prince Charles was right – the irreversible damage was done this year during our lifetime (and during the Trump Administration to boot!), but I don’t think so. God has already revealed that there is a day coming full of irreversible damage long before alarmists came up with this notion.

2 Peter 3:3-7
Most importantly, I want to remind you that in the last days scoffers will come, mocking the truth and following their own desires. They will say, “What happened to the promise that Jesus is coming again? From before the times of our ancestors, everything has remained the same since the world was first created.” They deliberately forget that God made the heavens long ago by the word of his command, and he brought the earth out from the water and surrounded it with water. Then he used the water to destroy the ancient world with a mighty flood. And by the same word, the present heavens and earth have been stored up for fire. They are being kept for the day of judgment, when ungodly people will be destroyed.

God destroyed the wickedness of the world once with a flood. And one day he plans to judge the wickedness of the world again but with fire. That’s why I’ve always thought the “scientific” idea of global warming was so hilarious – it’s directly out of scripture! God has guaranteed global warming (judgment by fire) is a certainty for all who reject his Son, Jesus. And there is nothing a person’s “carbon footprint” can do about it.

A person’s heart, not their carbon footprint, is the solution for global warming, for God’s wrath is not being preserved for Believers.

We are made right with God by placing our faith in Jesus Christ. And this is true for everyone who believes, no matter who we are. (Romans 3:22) For God chose to save us through our Lord Jesus Christ, not to pour out his anger on us. Christ died for us so that, whether we are dead or alive when he returns, we can live with him forever. So encourage each other and build each other up, just as you are already doing.
(1 Thessalonians 5:9-11)

Dear God,
Thank you for already rescuing me from wrath and judgment and fire. Thank you for your Son and for making me right with you through him. I pray for my unsaved family and friends and for the manipulated public being distracted from the actual danger of unrepentant hearts. Help their hearts and thoughts turn to the One who created nature instead of worshiping nature itself. For you are great and full of power and worthy to judge the world how you see fit. And I praise you and thank you for your salvation, and I pray in Jesus’ name through whom your salvation comes! Amen.
