Who is Like You?

Exodus 15:11 NLT
Who is like you among the gods, O Lord—glorious in holiness...

All gods, except God, are products of man’s imagination. They are created fantasies. Their attributes and characters are limited to man’s imagination. When Moses says there are no gods like God it’s because the One True Living God is the only one not born from human imagination. The reason God stands out with attributes un-ascribe-able to any other god is because man can’t ascribe holiness to a man-imagined god because holiness comes from God. Without God, the idea of holiness wouldn’t be on our radar; it is not something we would think up. Holiness is unique to him. Only God is holy, and that is why there is no other god out there, ancient or otherwise, with the attributes of God.

No one knows holiness without God. That’s why there’s so many songs about God in the Bible; his attributes have to be explained to people. Without God there is no knowledge of or possibility of holiness. His qualities are unique to him because he wasn’t invented my man. Therefore, we are blown away when we realize his goodness because we don’t get this from anywhere else in life – only through him do these good and pleasing qualities appear on man’s radar.

He revealed his character to Moses
and his deeds to the people of Israel.
The Lord is compassionate and merciful,
slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love.
He will not constantly accuse us,
    nor remain angry forever.
He does not punish us for all our sins;
he does not deal harshly with us, as we deserve.
For his unfailing love toward those who fear him
is as great as the height of the heavens above the earth.
He has removed our sins as far from us
as the east is from the west.
The Lord is like a father to his children,
tender and compassionate to those who fear him.

(Amazing attributes of God unlike that of any other god from Psalm 103:7-13)

Dear God,
There is no one like you because all that you are can’t be conceived of by our human imaginations. We do not imagine holiness. We have to have you to know what that is. Thank you that through your Son, Jesus we have been made holy and have access to your wonderful ways that truly are not like any others. Thank you so much for who you are. I love you and praise you and pray in Jesus’ name, amen.
